Our Mission

Every individual, in any workplace, knows something about Aboriginal culture.

But right now, there’s a significant sense of nervousness, guilt or fear in the workplace around yarns relating to Aboriginal culture, people or land.

The barriers I witness that a majority of sectors, small to large businesses, are facing right now;

  • Do we start with cultural learning, community engagement or employment?

  • Who do we go to for advice, guidance or support relevant to our needs?

  • Is a RAP or developing our own cultural strategy the best method?

  • How do we empower staff to create a culturally safe space?

I’ve setup JB Aboriginal Strategy & Consulting to partner with organisations that feel like this, but want to make a difference across Australia for our mobs.

My goal is to enhance any workplace by improving staff confidence and creating a simple and effective plan that develops connection with and appreciation for Aboriginal cultures. The core objective is creating positive working environments that allows everyone to discuss, connect with and achieve great outcomes for our mob wherever they’re located, in any sector.

The time for long term and meaningful action for Aboriginal people, culture & land is now - we need to unlock the confidence to share & act upon what we know…

  • Josh Brown

    Being a proud Worimi man from the Forster-Tuncurry region in NSW, delivering on actions that enhance outcomes for Aboriginal people, culture & country is a great passion of mine.

    Having started my career in Teaching, I’ve been able to develop a unique communication and education style to my project delivery. My strategic philosophy and framework has been developed and shaped through my experience & networks at the Botanic Gardens Sydney, NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment, Macquarie University and UNSW AGSM Business School.

    I don’t speak on behalf of all Aboriginal people & cultures. I simply guide and support any organisation in the cultural outcomes, strategy & learning space, using my experiences as an Aboriginal person, to achieve meaningful results.
